Gunnebo House is one of Sweden's best and stylistically one of the purest examples of neo-classical architecture. It is beautifully situated between two lakes, Rådasjön and Stensjön, in the Municipality of Mölndal, just south of Gothenburg. Gunnebo House was built at the end of the 18th century as an exclusive summer residence for Gothenburg merchant John Hall, who was at the time one of the wealthiest men in Sweden. When the house was completed in 1796 it was one of the most magnificent and most modern summer residences in the country. The fact that the house gradually acquired the name "slott" (Swedish for castle) is a reflection of its widely acknowledged elegance and splendour. Malin and I had a wonderful day here with Sarah and her little Henri.
