The locks are, beyond a doubt, the area’s most popular attraction. By walking through a unique natural environment, a visitor can become acquainted with three different lock systems; namely from 1800, 1844 and 1916. The latter is still used today by ships from harbours all round the world. The Canal Museum is also located here, with exhibits on the shipping trade along the river, Göta Älv and displays of many handsome model ships.
