Kungälv is easily reached from abroad by plane, train and automobiles, and boat! The two major airlines such as KLM and SAS fly several times a day to Landvetter airport just outside Göteborg. Check their websites for the latest offers.

From there on you will be guided through your desired data and upon availability the fare will be quoted automatically. You however should accept to pay with your credit card and click the option "electronic ticketing". This means that you will travel without (paper) tickets, easy and no more fear of losing them and you will save even € 5 which is the fee for a paper ticket . Upon reservation and payment with your credit card you will receive your itinerary/receipt. In case the required flights are already fully booked go back to the reference code and fill in WFHC6SKW and you will find out if seats are available at a slightly higher return fare, as mentioned above.
Flying with SAS often means that you will visit Copenhagen too. There are no direct flights from Amsterdam to Gotheburg with SAS!

KLM

From airport to Kungälv

From the airport Göteborg Landvetter, it's a 45 minute drive to Kungälv by car. Car rental is available at the airport (Europcar, Budget and Hertz). Public transport is also possible.

2. By car or motorbike

There are also different possibilities to reach Kungälv by car from the continent. The distance between Utrecht and Göteborg is approximately 1000 kilometres. You can also drive to Kiel (520 km from Utrecht) and take the night ferry with Stena Line to Göteborg where you will arrive the next morning.

Bus, train or hitchhiking

The train is possible, but it will take you a lot of time. Only if you want to spend more then 24 hours in the train, this is an option. The least expensive way is probably the Eurolines Bus or hithchiking.
