1985 - Saab EV-1 - This four-seater prototype of an advanced sports coupé was presented in 1985. This is an experimental car on which new materials (carbon fibre reinforced plastics etc) were tested in practical car design. The unique interior ventilation uses solar cells in the roof to keep the car cool when it is parked in sunlight. The 285 bhp, four cylinder turbocharged 16-valve engine spells power and an impressive top speed of 270 kph.
